Shift Your Focus: Vision and Vista

When we focus away from what we are doing in the present moment, we miss the present moment completely.
Focus is defined as “a central point of attention.” What we consistently focus on and put our attention toward expands and takes or gives us energy, whether positive or negative. If you focus on sickness or disease, you will tend to manifest sickness or disease; if you focus on health and wellbeing, you increase your energy and strengths.
Ask yourself this question: How is my ATTITUDE and energy today? The answer to your question will be where your focus is directed. We need to focus our attention on the things we desire to achieve, receive, give, do and be; and maintain that focus. The better we can focus on the things that move us toward the direction we want, the more we will achieve what we want, and our life and health will change. How can you start shifting your focus today?
Focusing on the present moment is important because it is the only moment we have power over to make a change! We cannot go backwards into our past; but we can learn from it! We cannot jump forward into our future; but we can design it! What we can do right now is: Focus on our “NOW,” the present moment, to make changes right now from what we have learned, so that we will start making a better future! It is important to be aware of our weaknesses and work on improving them, but it is crucial to focus on our strengths, for it is our strengths that will lead us to success and fulfillment. In the words of Anthony Fernando, “Never let the things you can’t do stop you from doing the things you can do.” Look at what you can start doing now!
Wherever you place your focus, gives MEANING, significance, and interpretation to the focus, which propels emotion. Your emotion is translated into energy, giving power to the direction of focus. ENERGY IS THE POWERFUL FORCE TO MOVE THINGS IN YOUR LIFE! Only you have the power to decide where your energy is placed. Instead of looking at the irrelevant and negative details of life, offer gratitude, and count the many Blessings of Your Life! If you start counting them, you will focus on the blessings rather than the annoyances, and you will start adding energy to your blessings; thereby increasing them.
If you concentrate on how bad you are, how wrong you are, how inadequate or inferior you are, it depletes you from your energy and takes your focus away from your dream and purpose in life, and to contribute and make a difference. Start acting like the person you want to become! Henry David Thoreau said “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” Try turning your focus away from the things that are holding you from flourishing and begin focusing on the power and spirit that lies within you!
Changing Your Focus by a millimeter will Change Your Life by a mile!
Helen Keller was once asked: “Is there anything worse than being blind?” She replied with that the most difficult idea to comprehend was “someone who has sight, but has no vision!” Shift your focus to the vision and vista you want to be in; every small shift creates a powerful step toward your new opportunities and possibilities!
